TYLER PAZIN

SHOOTING

Tyler Pazin is an elite shooter. He is the man you want to give the puck to late in a game. He has a wicked wrister and has a quick release. You do not want to give the puck away to this player because he will always make you pay with his accuracy and his ability to see the space he has to shoot. He could use some work on his slap shot as he does not like to use it and that is most likely because his wrist shot is better. Nothing wrong with that, but to round out his shooting ability that is vital. His shooting ability while skating is a weapon that not a lot of people hold. He can release a blistering wrist shot while at a high speed.

SKATING

Pazin is not a slow player by any means. He also is not always the fastest player on the ice. He likes to explode with speed when he sees his opportunities. Tyler likes to use long strides when he wants to explode with speed. On the backcheck, breaking into the zone, or just breaking away from the defender he has a lot of acceleration. Pazins edge work is very good. He can change his direction on a dime. Tyler can also use his edges to avoid defenders to give himself space for scoring chances.

PLAYMAKING

To start, he has a puck magnet strapped to his stick blade. Pucks just seem to hit his stick all over the ice. He can find players where ever they are on the ice. Tyler is a good playmaker but he is without a doubt the goal-scorer on his team. He can make plays all over the ice and he is the man you want the puck on his stick at the end of the game. Pazin may be the guy that ends the game with the goal but he is more than capable of making the pass that also ends the game.

HOCKEY SENSE

Tyler has a lot of hockey sense. He seems to always be in the right place at the right time. Pazin also makes the play that is needed and not necessarily the play that pads his stats. Pazin makes smart plays in the defensive zone as well. He creates turnovers all over the ice by just being in the right place or making the right play. Tyler can read a defencemen’s intentions very well and can make him turn it over to him or even one of his teammates. 

PHYSICALITY

Tyler Pazin is not a small player. He is only 17 years old and he already is 6’1″ and 180 lbs. He is not afraid to use his frame to help out defensively as well as create turnovers. If he continues to work on continuing to bulk up and as he grows up he will be a big player and be very hard to get the puck off of him. The biggest thing is that he needs to continue to not be afraid to get in the dirty areas of the ice and not be afraid to battle for a puck in the corner. He is a decent-sized player and if he stays physical, he will find so much more time and space to be able to use his shot and playmaking abilities.
